So it’s not Really Such a Wonderful World, But it’s the Best We Have, So Let’s Take Better Care of of….

Merry Giftmas, all!

Too many have dispensed with generosity in order to practice charity. — Albert Camus (Yes, I suppose it’s worse now than 60-odd years ago.)

Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired. — Robert Frost

It is not enough to have a good mind. The main thing is to use it well [like Big Finance’s “Best and Brightest”]. — Rene Descartes

I barely exaggerate: Apparently, some Republican-oriented "think tank" has shown that Republican economic policies cause increase in criminality.

Why no Wiki$ have gone to Bradley Manning for legal representation is an excellent question. Maybe another good one — maybe even a better one — is why no pro bono legal operation or anyone else has offered to to do anything in regard to his questionable incarceration.

Reminder: Obomba is almost as bad as Beloved Leader but cannot be worse.

More crime, fewer cops: Lucky for Newark it’s mayor is a great B.S. artist….

Is “pundit” a defined as “pandering shithead” yet? Contrary to the hyenas, President Palin has the 2012 nomination to lose. Why? Because no one else is close to excite the people who will be voting like she does. And with no alternative — duh. And I’m happy with that (except for the raucous howling and yapping and barking) because little as I like Obomba, no one Republican would be better.

She can be president!

Farewell, 111th Congress; Here comes the 112th: The Masters of Destruction and Pillage — hey, wait! Those are barbarians!

NORAD tracks Santa because the world once wasn’t crazy like it is now. This couldn’t happen today. Today, there’d be arrests, massive media coverage, and maybe eventually a payday for the arrestees — but no NORAD tracking of Santy. Yes, it’s sad.

It's a mystery to me: the gratuitous use of PhotoShop and image manipulation -- and all the resulting avoidable disasters.

The Times’ new normal: Misreport old news and slap it on the front page. There is no story here and it’s incompetently reported. (Like the fine job the Times did in the run-up to the Iraq war disaster. Republican assholes: You wanna cut spending, the low-hanging fruit would be shutting down your two stupid military disasters. But then, you don’t believe in fiscal responsibility.)
